Model 1913 Canadian Pattern Seven-Button Jacket

31st Battalion Calgary Alberta, Model 1913 Canadian pattern seven-button jacket of Cpl. C.W. Donaldson 79452 No. 4 Platoon, A Coy, 31st Battalion. The Canadian pattern jacket has a tall, stiff collar with seven small brass Canada buttons securing the front, two on the upper patch pockets and none on the bottom slash pockets. There are no rifle patches on the shoulders and the jacket has "Lancer" style cuffs. The jacket is complete with the rare "31 Alberta" shoulder titles.

The shoulder displays rare "31 Alberta" embroidered shoulder titles. The collar badges are the stamped brass 31st Battalion pattern.
A close-up of the rare "31 Alberta" shoulder title sewn to each shoulder. Very few units had these shoulder flashes manufactured and they are exceptionally difficult to find today.

The back is constructed from three panels with no pleats.
The jacket is partially lined with green cloth. Canadian pattern seven-button jackets have only one rear belt hook, unlike British jackets which had two rear belt hooks. Note the cloth maker's label on the left (washed-out and unreadable), and the distinctive large interior breast pocket on the right.
