CSM Robertson lost his right eye due to a shrapnel wound on January 19th 1916 near Messines France. He served the remainder of the war in England on staff duties. The jacket is displayed with a 1916 dated kilt cover.

The jacket has the brass "C" over "42" collar badges for the 42nd Canadian Infantry Battalion. Buttons are leather cover wood.
