1st Canadian Motor Machine Gun Brigade (1st MMGB) Transport Company jacket.

The jacket is a British 5-button pattern with the dark Burgundy arrow and triangle of the Transport company of the 1st MMGB on each shoulder. Collars are the stamped brass 1st MMGB pattern.

The shoulder displays a burgundy arrow and triangle of the Transport company of the 1stMMGB on each shoulder. Collars are the stamped brass 1st MMGB pattern.

A close-up of one of the MG collar badges. Lifting up the MG badges reveal a faded shape of the badge with no extra holes.
Lifting of the collar reveals there is only one dart. Until 1918, the five-button jacket had two darts. The single dart is often incorrectly assumed by collectors to be a sign of a post war jacket.

However, post war jackets are considerably tighter in the chest and have an additional dart between the two seams under the armpit. This jacket is a late wartime produced jacket, retains the full relaxed fit, and does not have the dart under the armpit of a post war produced jacket.

This jacket was given to a museum by a family, determined at a later date by the museum to be surplus to their mandate, and then legally traded to me (with board approval of course) for items the museum was searching for.
