On to the Disk Sander
Each station is sanded down to the correct outline on a disk sander. A few times I sanded too much off and had to add wood during the planking. I should have slowed down and taken my time.

My Friend the Drill Press
The finer pieces with more of a curve, were sanded on a drum sander on a drill press. The drill press for this project proved itself to be exceptionally useful, for sanding as well as drilling accurate holes.

Fitting the Stations to the Keel
After cutting out corresponding slots in the correct location for each station on the keel, each station had to be individually sanded for a good fit. I made the fit on several of these too tight, which caused some serious problems later on. The stations should slip on and off easily during this step, not have to be forced on.
