A Waterline Jig; Crude, but Effective I made a simple jig to measure the waterline, as it was soon time to do something I dreaded; drill the portholes. |

Marking the Portholes I tried repeatedly to mark the portholes on both sides with little success. |

I finally got them correct on one side, used these to make a template, and then reversed and marked the opposite side. This worked quite well and ensured that both sides were the same. This was done for both the bow and stern. | | |

Here we go! I determined that the portholes would be made from 5/32" brass tube, so I used a new 5/32" drill bit to carefully drill all 128 portholes. This was quite stressful, as the hull was looking great, and I was drilling holes in it! |
