A Waterline Jig; Crude, but Effective
I made a simple jig to measure the waterline, as it was soon time to do something I dreaded; drill the portholes.

Marking the Portholes
I tried repeatedly to mark the portholes on both sides with little success.

I finally got them correct on one side, used these to make a template, and then reversed and marked the opposite side. This worked quite well and ensured that both sides were the same. This was done for both the bow and stern.
Here we go!
I determined that the portholes would be made from 5/32" brass tube, so I used a new 5/32" drill bit to carefully drill all 128 portholes. This was quite stressful, as the hull was looking great, and I was drilling holes in it!
