| When handling metal or leather artifacts, cotton gloves should be worn at all times. With cloth items such as uniforms and caps etc. the problem is not as significant. A fingerprint on a metal helmet, sword blade, or weapon, will quickly result in surface rust on that spot. Unless it is quickly removed, the rust may become permanent. |
