Braunschweigisches Husaren-Regt. Nr.17
Vizewachtmeister (Senior NCO) Attila

Issued Attila for a Vizewachtmeister (Senior NCO) from Braunschweigisches Husaren-Regt. Nr.17. The rank of Vizewachtmeister was an Unteroffizier mit Portepee (NCO with the Officer's sword knot).

The Attila is a high quality black doe-skin wool with bright yellow cord braiding, gilt toggle buttons and rosettes. Five rows of ornamental yellow braiding was worn on the chest, as well as on the front, collar, cuffs and rear. The braiding was looped on both sleeves in a Hungarian knot.

The Attila is an issued example dated 1888 and in incredible condition.

As the owner was a Vizewachtmeister (Senior NCO) there are two bright gilt Preußen (Prussian) NCO buttons on the collar below the Tresse.

The buttons on both shoulder cords are for the 3rd Eskadron (3rd Squadron).

The sleeves and the top interior of the tunic are completely lined in an off-white heavy linen.
