As previously mentioned, if visor caps are displayed sitting with their weight on the visor, this seemingly insignificant weight will eventually tear the old and fragile cotton threads that hold the visor on the body. Like helmets, they should be supported on styrofoam heads or some other display form to support the weight of the cap. One efficient method for supporting a visor cap, is by using foam "bricks". Each foam brick is cut to the exact size big enough to fit snug in the cap, but not stretch the shape. Remember, foam is harmful to leather and fabric and must be wrapped in a neutral, acid free unbleached fabric such as muslin.
