Drilling the Geschützerohr
Each Geschützerohr (gun barrel) was placed in a jig so I could drill a hole through each barrel in exactly the same spot. This is how the Geschützerohr would be secured to the gun mounts.

28cm Geschützerohr Ready
Saved once again by a simple wooden jig. I should admit that several of the holes were not straight, as the drill had bent a little on the way through. These were thrown away and new Geschützerohr were cast until I got it right.

Making the Geschützeturme Base
I made the bottom half of the Geschützeturm with the gun mounts from scrap styrene by using a paper template from the Deutschland drawings. The bases are not flat, the bottom is actually round and sits on the Geschützeturm platform. It was critical here that I ensured that the Geschützerohr (barrels) sat straight and true before making the mold. They could then be secured to the gun mounts with a bolt and nut.
