Made to Fit
I copied the full-size hull line drawings and made templates for the hull stations. This allowed me to confirm that my hull was the correct size and shape now that it was planked. The hull stations had been reduced to 89%, but these had to be 100%.

Sanding, Sanding
The hull seemed to require endless sanding to get it to fit the templates. I have to admit that this was enjoyable compared to the endless planking. My effort at planking had actually turned out reasonably well. The planks fit tightly with no noticeable gaps.

But eventually, the hull fit the templates at every station. It was looking very much indeed like a Deutschland-Klasse battleship.
