Rip it OUT!
Once the soldered corners were cut, I then removed the brass angle from both sides. This hurt, as the edge looked so perfect, and here I was trashing it and making a huge mess.

After the brass abgle was pried out, I filled the gap between the upper deck and boat deck structures with sheet plastic, and then fixed a second error; as seen on the drummer photo on the previous page the air vent covers protrude from under the gangways. I had made the air vent covers too narrow, and the gangways would cover them, so I had to extend the air vent covers so they would protrude out from under the gangways.

Laufgang (Gangways)
To make the heavy steel mesh Laufgang (gangways), I obtained 1.6mm (1/16) brass angle for the outside edge, and soldered the length to PLM Marinedetails #77 Ösenleiste für Reling (railing supports).

Laufgang (Gangways)
PLM Marinedetails' #82 Relingstütze (railing stanchions) were soldered onto the #77 Ösenleiste für Reling (railing supports), and then .007" music wire was soldered to the railings. Eduard photo-etched mesh was soldered to the inside of the brass L bracket, and then .80mm (1/32) brass L bracket was soldered upside-down on the inside edge to give it a clean edge. Once assembled, the gangways now sat correctly on the upper deck and the air vent covers protruded from undeneath. Much better! All it needed now was paint.
