| Mast Platforms The Deutschland drawings show one very large searchlight on the Fore (front) mast, but the photos of Pommern seem to show that all the searchlights were the same size, so this is what I did. First off, I had to make the platforms by using a circle cutter to make perfectly round searchlight platforms. I tried cutting a circle a dozen times and finally gave up and bought a cheap circle cutter. I should have just bought it in the first place and saved myself a lot of grief. |

| Adding the Edge Then a lip was added around each searchlight platform using strip styrene and glue. The platforms were laid flat on glass, glued, turned a bit, glued, turned a bit, until I was all the way around. |

| Making the Platforms Once the platforms were made, a small piece of brass rod the same diameter as the main mast was used to align and glue the spars into place. |
